LifePod Trailers FAQ

LifePod FAQ

(Frequently Asked Questions)

Who is this intended for?

Those most likely to be interested in purchases, whether wanting to be prepared or having an urgent need, are:

  • Survivalists, preppers, and families
  • Employers, schools, universities, teams, and employment/work locations
  • Government, agencies, and organizations

Why do I need an emergency preparedness trailer?

In an emergency, especially an unforeseen relocation, the average family will become refugees fighting to survive within 48-72 hours. The average family will become reliant on others, and a drain on government resources.

If relocated for fire, flood, nuclear emergency, war, civil unrest, or other disaster,  most families will not have more than 1-2 days of food and water with them at best. With supply broad disruptions, stores’, restaurants’, and gas stations’ supplies may be depleted. LifePod trailers are designed to extend your time of security to 30-days of survivability with no help from the outside world. A LifePod trailer can be used as an emergency preparedness storage shed, yet is mobile to be easily relocated if and as the need may arise, for maximum versatility.

LifePod trailers can  also be delivered to anyone anywhere in the continental United States, to you or someone else, whether:

wanting to be prepared beforehand, or,
having a present need for emergency supplies and equipment.

  • Have one at your backup, emergency, safe or bug out location
  • Have one to help you get you to your safe location
  • Send one to a friend or family member who is unprepared, or needs help

Do I really need 30 days of food, water, supplies?

You don’t know what you will need or for how long, is the point. LifePod is designed with the intent to address all basic needs, in hopefully whatever circumstances may arise. Read the packing list for description of what the trailer comes stocked with, and terms for details. (Please note that the trailers for 10 and 20 people only have food and water for 7 days.)

What if we plan to stay home during an emergency?

In most emergencies, the safest thing to do is indeed to stay home. However, when that is not an option, and plans go south, especially for a wide-scale or long-term scenario, basic necessities may be difficult or impossible to obtain.

What if we have a planned emergency safe location we are planning to travel to?

That’s great that you have an emergency plan. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. However, a long drive during an emergency may encounter traffic jams, closed or flooded roads, running out of gas without refueling, or other unforeseen problems. Your planned safe location may not be safe, or you may not be able to reach it and become stranded.

Why can’t we just pack up our car or SUV if we need to evacuate?

Even large cars, trucks, and SUVs cannot carry the supplies you may need to survive for more than a few days. And when would you have time to load it? With a recommended one gallon of water per person per day between drinking and cooking, a family of four would need 28 gallons of water for just one week, and 120 gallons for a month. Water alone for a family of four weights 1000 pounds and takes up significant space. Let alone food, clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, a tent, materials to cook with and other supplies. Your LifePod is always packed and ready to go.

Why not use a camper or RV for disaster relocation?

Some people may choose to use a camper or RV option as part of their emergency preparedness planning. That may be a great idea for some. The LifePod is designed to maximize your versatility and travel range by providing you the maximum supplies with the minimum weight. LifePod is a standard, 2-inch ball trailer, towable by most cars and SUVs to give you the greatest driving range in case fuel is not available. The LifePod can fit in most parking spots or inside most garages.

Can I send a LifePod to friends or family in disaster zones?

Yes. We can ship our LifePod trailers fully loaded anywhere in the continental United States, by street address, as long as accessible by paved roads and findable by Apple or Google maps. Shipping rates  apply – see terms for details. If someone you care about is stranded or needs help, a LifePod delivered to them can literally be a lifesaver. They can use it wherever they are, and the later tow it anywhere as needed.

What about the cool-looking, military-style, survivalist-looking decked-out trailers?

We do not indulge in fantasy here. While some survivalist trailers look like they are right out of an action movie, we believe those trailers will attract a lot of unwanted attention. With high-profile “survival” vehicles, every car on the road will know you are fully stocked, making you a target for criminals, curious inspections, and other obstacles. If a trailer recipient is part of a community in need, the less attention delivery attracts, the better. Your generosity should be your choice. We believe one of the greatest dangers is sadly other people looking to take advantage of the situation, those not as well prepared as you, or simply following bad instructions from authorities. We believe a low-profile, inconspicuous approach is the best way to get you safely through a situation. not to mention, some of the high-profile survival trailers can cost $50,000 to $140,000 dollars. Translation: You want to be boring and unnoticed.

Do you sell to government agencies and organizations?

Yes, we are happy to sell to any person or organization who can put our trailers to use. We are happy to send trailers to any disaster zone or situation. See delivery terms for more information.

Why not get emergency survival supplies and equipment delivered without a trailer?

A key factor of an emergency or survival situation is unpredictability. Whoever utilizes the equipment may need to relocate. While they could not otherwise transport this amount of water, food, and equipment, they can easily hitch the trailer to any capable tow vehicle and transport it wherever they need to. LifePod is like a mobile emergency supply shed you can transport anywhere.

Will you ever offer a trailer you can sleep in?

Right now, the original model works as a mobile supply storage and transportation facility that allows equipment to be used with any home, your car, tent camping, or other shelter or location. As these are cargo trailers, sleeping in them is not advised due to ventilation, space, stability, and other habitability issues. We are looking into the possibility of a camping trailer, but have not found one that can carry the cargo for the size, weight, and purpose of the original LifePod yet. But we are looking.

Why not get a trailer and pack it myself?

If you were going to, you would’ve done it already. The thought, planning, and organization, and time behind this trailer’s selection, equipment list, and organization took hundreds of hours of research and analysis through survival scenarios. While some hard core survivalist preppers might go through the hundreds of hours of planning, strategizing, organizing, buying, stocking of the trailer and all its items, most people at least want to start with a base setup and customize from there with any details they may want. Most working and busy people want the best chances of survival with minimal time and effort, rather than making a trailer their new hobby. We like to joke, that if you think you will do it all yourself, you’re welcome to try, and remember to call us in a year when you still haven’t done it yet.

How do you get a prepared trailer delivered to a friend or loved one in an emergency or disaster zone?

Simply order a trailer and set the delivery location to whatever location you choose in the continental United States, your own bugout location, or to a friend or family member. Delivery requires passable, paved roads, and an U.S. postal address that is findable by the available delivery services. Or, you can pick one up yourself at our location in Charlotte, North Carolina – inquire per our contact form.

How long does trailer delivery take?

As we are just starting, we expect initial deliveries to be approximately 3-4 weeks, depending on several factors. Once up and running full speed, we hope to be able to deliver trailers anywhere in the continental United States in 1-2 weeks, or even less. We also plan to deliver to Canada and Mexico.

Where can I park the life Pod Trailer?

Whether you are storing your LifePod or are on the go, the trailer is designed to fit into most parking spots and most standard garages, whether at your house, your dugout location, or a friend’s house, or on the move. All you need is level ground. Wheel chocks are included to help stabilize the trailer, as well as a stabilizer jack for stability when parked. In an emergency, you can leave the trailer anywhere and pick it up later. Also included is a trailer hitch lock to prevent unauthorized access, and anti-clip secure door padlocks.

What kind of trailer is it?

The trailer will be a brand new, Interstate LoadRunner, Victory, Patriot, or similar high-quality brand, nondescript and common-looking, 5×8 (approximately) aluminum construction, single-axle cargo trailer with a 2-inch ball hookup. It will be an innocuous color such as black, white, silver, or gray, with no non-standard distinguishing markings or nor advertisements. No attraction-getters. No indicators of what may be inside are included, other than any options you may choose. It will have a rear door and a side door. Spare tire included is mounted on the interior. Curb weight empty will be approximately 1000 lbs., and GVWR will be approximately 3000 lbs., allowing for approximately 2000 lbs. of cargo. Inquire within for exact details. Variance will depend on manufacturer availability.

Can I customize it?

The LifePod comes stocked with supplies and standard equipment, and you can choose from a few additional options. What you do after that point is up to you. You can add to it, restock it, and enhance it however you choose.

What comes in the trailer?

The trailer comes with supplies intended to provide everything needed to survive for one month, for one, two, or four people. See available options on checkout. This includes a month of water, food, tent, blankets, and other supplies and equipment totaling over 500 items, many of high-quality and usefulness, thoughtfully assembled. There are also add on items for increased utility. And of course, you can customize the trailer once you receive it per your individual preparedness goals and needs.
